SECOND LEAFLET

We are well underway now with the delivery of our second B4 leaflet, whilst at the same time our third leaflet is being delivered by the Royal Mail. So lots of claret and white going through the letterboxes, hope you enjoy

  1. Putting Northampton first – good to see that Mr Tony Clarke and Mr Dave Green have put their money were there mouth is – and had the leaflets printed by a local printing company?

  2. Mr Clarke, I have read all the leaflets that have come from my door, 2 from Brian Binley + a letter 3 from yourself, 2 from Save our public Services and 1 each from the Labour Party and the Lib Dems.

your leaflets were by far superior in content and style to all the other candidates put together, I am a natural swing voter Lab 2001. Tory 2005, but this year you ghet my vote by a country mile.

Thanks for livening up a boring campaign and putting the local back into local politics.

I laughed out loud at Bob's posting - things must be tense in the TC camp if this is being asked of supporters - new politics? I dont think so.

As much as Independence has value as a cause, I'm afraid Mr Clarke you can't independently change hundreds of years of english language and grammar.

There is no apostrophe in MP's - you keep including one and if you don't remove it for me, do it for the kids in schools across the town.

  5. Dan - Yes i am a supporter of Tony and he has encouraged me to write on his blog with supportive words but its how I feel and would say this in public too,

    Bob

  6. ??????????????????

People write what they want to write? I don't encourage anybody?

One thing about this blog is that it is tamper free.

  7. It's not your town (see leaflet) Mr Clarke - it's our town.

  8. Yours......... ours......... mine..............

  9. Tony mate you are right - sorry if i drpped you in it there. I didnt mean encouraged in that way. Just wanted to make sure your call to get us speaking up for you more in the last week of polling got acted upon.

  10. Bobby mate - quit while you're only slightly ahead! You're making it sound like a stich up.

I'm an old comrade of Tony's from drinking together over the eastern district years ago. He's asked me to support him (which I will with my vote)and to write to the Chron saying good things which I have too.

no doubt they won't print it but the more we write in backing tony and attacking labour then they won't be able to print any pro tory or lib dem letters.

  11. I smell a rat guys!!!!!!!!!

For the record though, I think someone above is trying to have a little fun? So be it, who am I to censor?

As for writing to the Chron, did you know that all those supposed letters in the Chron from Lib Dem Cllrs are actually written by a small letter writing team (some say its so small that it consists purely of the groups political assistant)

  12. Spartacus2008 IVA Varnsverry is at it again.

Can you prove who you are Mr Varnsverry.

Fill in the big gaping hole in your history.

Where is the 15 - 18 years after you left school/college up to and including 1995?

Desperation is setting in at Winchester Road.

Tony - when they resort to using your blog to campaign - you know that you are well on the way to winning.

PS as for spelling on leaflets. Ask Varnsverry how to spell RENOWNED

On his leaflet it is spelled "REKNOWNED"

So don't take any lessons from that quarter!

  13. and he has got two agents!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two Agents for christ's sake, surely that's unfair! On one leaflet it says Jane Hollis on the imprint and on the other Richard Giddings!

And to think at the Castle Ward election I was interviewed by plod for an hour for simply not putting an imprint on!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Tony - I have sent the following to the Agent, will post if I get anything back?

    Dear Mr Giddings

As the registered agent for Mr Varnsverry (Northampton South) would you please inform me as to the imprint on election communication reading:

Published and promoted by Jane Hollis

Would you please explain why you have allowed this to go out?

I have copied Ms Hollis into this email, as she may wish to add her comments as to this misleading leaflet

    Regards,
    Mr Norman Adams

  15. It's the same old Lib Dems - they cannot make a decision so they always have an either or option. Thus the two agents, I suppose.

It comes as no surprise to me. I told JD in emails earlier in the year, that this was the sort of behaviour Mr Varnsverry would resort to. It comes of being desperate to get an income, not because he wants to serve anyone or anything. If this man ever claps you on the back, all he is doing is feeling for the soft spot to stick the knife in. He lives in Walter Mitty land or maybe even cloud cuckoo land.

Unlike you Tony he could never say "my Northampton" with any passion.

Come on Mr Varnsverry, or someone else even. Give a credible description of your whereabouts in the 15 - 18 years between leaving school/college and 1995.

    ReplyDelete
  16. One of the BIG LIES of this election is the "£700 in your pocket" promised by the Liberal Democrats.

They back the imposition of the National Insurance rise which is a tax of between £130 and £150. So by virtue of common sense and simple calculation if you subtract £130/£150 from £700 you arrive at a figure of either £550 or £570.

Even if they were ever in a position to implement this 'gift' they would not be giving us "£700 in your pocket"

Elementary mistake from a party with absolutely no credible fiscal policy.

Clegg you have told the Nation a downright LIE.

  17. IndepenDENSE here - obviously Tony has got his team to shut up following the fascinating posts from Bobby and Tommy. Come on you two - don't let the candidate stop your honest and up fron postings.

I am not sure who the above is but they are becoming obsessed with Mr V. Two agents? Who cares? and this 'gap' in their CV? Why does that matter so much to TC supporters?

Less then a week to go and the scores on the doors for the Independent campaign is nothing new to say with a total focus on 'going negative' on the Fib, I mean, the Lib Dems.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Mete the Punk1 May 2010 at 15:43

Who does this IndepenDENSE think he is?

Come on man (or woman) put your name on the blog and lets see who you really are.

Tony Clake is a good honest politician who will always put people and this town first. I am happy to work hard for him, put letters into the paper supporting him, deliver his leaflets and write on this blog at his request to highlight the awful opposition to him at this election.

I was once a Labour Party member but like so many others were let down when they refused to select Tony for the local elections.

    MtP

    ReplyDelete
  19. Tony - don't let the fact that we are working hard for you and being open about that discourage you. I am not ashamed to say publically I support you and will continue to do so.

The harder we work the more we can 'out' the Lib Dems (although this Fib Dems thing could catch on)

Come on fellow Tony supporters - get your letters into the paper and blogs on this blog supporting our candidate. I have got my mum and her sister writing in and with regards to the Chron you don't even have to use your real name; just a phone number they can call you on.

    ReplyDelete
  20. We will see what the returning officer has to say in relation to 'two agents' Varrnsverry, especially as Jane Hollis refused to actually be his agent (and who could blame her)

History/Future - wasn't it you IndepenDENSE who put those two words into a comment somewhere recently?

CVs relate the history of the person and Mr Varnsverry is refusing to reveal his.

Congratulions to you Tony on your excellent performance at Sixfields. You were indeed a credit to Northampton South

PS Mete the punk:- As Mr Clark has already stated, he doesn't ask anyone to write here, there or anywhere else on his behalf - people make an effort because they support him and because he tells it how it is. Everyone knows who and what he is and stands for, unlike other candidates in this election. You know who I mean.

    Wher's the history Mr Varnsverry?

15/18 years missing from the CV. Why?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Came across this blog last night while I was wanderin' or should that be strollin'? I never know. This Mr Varnsverry guy seems to have a few enemies?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I heard plenty of jeering at Mr Varnsverry in Abington Street today.
    I wonder why?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tony; I hate to tell you this, but Jane Hollis has stopped being Paul's agent about two weeks ago.

Not sticking up for anyone; just not anyone start anything either!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. And just a little note to Bobby...
I got told off by my Mum for writing in to the Chron so much!!!

(But now you tell me I don't need to use my real name!)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Vote Varnsverry Lib Dem and you still have the bund in Delapre.

When you voted him on to the NBC he also promised honesty and reform.

And now look at the Town 3 years in to a LIB DEM administration. We have never had so many problems.

Parking for a red Astra that cost the Town thousands.

    No Balloon Festival

    Public Toilet issues

    Plastic Christmas Trees

    Councillor PAY RISES

    £7.2 million black hole

    Fire Works CANCELLED

    Neighbourhood Wardens REDUCED

    Sixfields NO SUPPORT

    Saints NO SUPPORT

    Market Square RUINED

These are only some of the disadvantages of anything LIB DEM and that's only at local level. Can you imagine what they would do Nationally? It doesn't bear thinking about.
