Hope you have enjoyed our printed material, we have tried to be different and entertain as well as inform. Tony

  1. Firstly; please can you send me one?
    Mum LOVES Meerkats!!!

Secondly, I hate to tell you this... but John also wants you as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz too... I am after that picture!!! I'll lend you my shoes!! And dress!

Thirdly, again; and once more with feeling... good luck.

Thank you for being my friend, and I know you will be just what I and this town need.

  2. Results are in and the early indications are clear - the supporters of Tony Clarke that filled this blog over the last week were the same ones (and the only ones) who voted for him.

  3. And you lost too Mr Varnsverry - big time.

  4. Interesting Anonymous - the only Tony Clarke sympathisers this morning must be the Lib Dems. They have been 'running' the town for a number of years, have thrown the kitchen sink at this election in our town and have come up woefully short in both North and South of the town. Simpson and Varnsverry must be devestated as this was their 'moment'

What we have seen in Northampton is once again, the people see the bigger picture and want a Tory or a Labour MP speaking for them.

    The people have spoken.

Whilst you lot play games and call each other names, the tory man has romped in. If you want to make a difference for us grow up and get real. Meerkats same SIMPLES - make a difference not just a lot of noise. Embarassing low vote for Tony & 'Varno' while the blue grandad is counting his pennies and putting his slippers on for anothre few years.

  7. oooh unrepresented, unlike my tetley's your not bitter! You can't criticise others for name calling and then talk about 'blue grandad'!

I personally do think people have grown up and not fell for the well intended but slightly niave 'now you can vote for northampton' well funded campaign.

You may not like Binners unrepresented, but more people voted for him than anyone else and thats why he is the MP for NS.

    Simples.

    Dear Tetleys

You missed the point of my comment.

The people have indeed spoken. Binners is the MP and rightly so, people got out and voted for him. The only people/thing I am bitter about is the other parties/individuals who allowed him to stand for election effectively unopposed. There was no scope for the local non tory to vote with any real prospect of affecting the result.

Firstly, I know of more people than not who voted for Tony.

Secondly, I felt deeply sorry for both Andrew and Paul that they lost.

Thirdly, I am slightly worried about you if you think the "best politics" are the blue or red side...

In Northampton South we are lucky with Brian Binley; nothing against Michael Ellis, don't know the man or how he'll do for the town.

But come on now; to think that the "best" either north or south Northampton can do is Labour or Tory is a little off.

I don't fancy life under either to be honest.

And I am not even going to BEGIN to start of the fact Northampton South's Labour candidate can only be bothered to turn up ONCE a week to fight for his seat... Come on now people of Northampton South; surely even the most ardent Labour support cannot think that is right?

WE deserve better, we deserve candidates who will fight for the people of this town; that will do everything in their power to make this town as good ~ if not better than what it was!

I was born and raised here, I want my MP to be proud to not only serve me but work hard and fight for me; and others like me. I want my MP to bring back the pride to many others in this town, what I don't want is some paper candidate who doesn't give a damn (or seems not to give a damn) about me or my town.

In Tony Clarke; Andrew and Paul too, I know I will have a candidate that will do that... it is by sheer luck that Brian has been that man too; and even Sally has had her moments too... just incase you think I am all for Labour bashing!

As to if Michael Ellis is that same type of MP; only time will tell... I hope for his sake he is, next time I cannot see it being such a walk in the park if not.
